Yesterday afternoon the J2’s took a walk through the skyway. The skyway seems to connect every down town building about 2 sories above the streets. Most buildings are set up with stores on the 2nd floor so you are basically walking through a store across a walkway and into another store. This is all very exciting for us country folk.
Here are some views from the skywalk. The picture above shows our hotel.
Tomorrow we have our first race, a freestyle sprint, so today we did a bunch of pick ups on the course.
All of the teams are here now and the sprint course was quite busy with a sea of different colored jackets whipping around and around.
The start/finish area is on top of the hill. This is a picture taken from there. Through the trees you can see the “chalet” where we can hang out as well as the city in the background. (click on the picture to enlarge it). The wax trailers are just below the chalet. The bus drive is about 12 minutes from the hotel and we get dropped off at the wax trailers. return buses go every hour.
Post ski change and snack in the chalet.
Our ski storage trailer.
Nice day eh?
Wax cabin action. It’s 9:45 and the older girls are scraping their skis while the J2’s are packing up to return to the hotel. Each group comes out in 1/2 hour intervals and so far it is working perfectly. One group finishes preping just before the next group arrives so there is constant action, but never much of a back up.
Cambria is all smiles as she heads out for her ski.
