Vacation is over for most elite skiers, and the 2012 training season is underway. While most athletes are focusing on the future, we are going to spend another week or so looking back. It is time for the annual FasterSkier awards.
We will be handing out virtual medals to the top men and women in the following categories:
Rookie of the Year
Breakthrough Skier of the Year
Collegiate Skier of the Year
Adaptive Skier of the Year
Continental Skier of the Year
Biathlete of the Year
Nordic Combined Skier of the Year
Performance of the Year (cross-country, biathlon, nordic combined)
Cross-Country Skier of the Year

Really? It’s not even May 1 yet. In Europe, some are still racing or have just finished, while others are playing poker, soccer or just hanging out at the beach or with their families. Are the Americans on a different schedule?

Some people have already started and some could be later (but not much)—-but May 1st is the 1st official day, just like Dec 25th is always Xmas—check to see how many teams are in trng camps or finished trng camps by May 1o to 15th (and those camps are a week to 10 days long)—trng schedules for each skier will be done by the time those camps are done.
