The Men’s XC ski team is inviting athletes from all around the country to join them for a virtual training camp. Men, Women, and athletes of all ages are encouraged to join in on one of the US Ski Teams toughest training weeks of the year.
Starting now everyone can go to the US Ski Team XC Men facebook page for constantly updated information. Athletes, Coaches, and clubs are encouraged to ‘like’ the page and show their commitment to the training week by joining in on the event. (located on the left side of the homepage)
The US Ski Team XC Men Facebook page will be constantly updated during the training week. Before each training day a US Ski Team Athlete will post an in-depth video explaining each workout’s goals and how it should be properly executed. The training week will consist of 3 intensity sessions, 5 distance workouts, 1 speed session, and 2 strength routines.
Athletes and clubs attending the virtual training camp can also post video’s and photos on the US Ski Team XC Menfacebook page to show us your progress throughout the training week and be entered to win prizes including US Ski Team appeal, Rudy Project sunglasses, Swix water bottle holders, and more. Specific video and photo contests will be outlined on the US Ski Team XC Men facebook page before the start of the camp on October 3rd.
Quotes from Men’s US Ski Team XC Men
“We are excited to use this training challenge as a way to encourage skiers from around the country to commit to intense ski training for one week.”
“ Most of the training we do is very basic and a lot of people don’t realize it. This training challenge will consist of workouts that anyone can do no matter which part of the country they’re in.”
“We all know skiing isn’t just an individual sport, the more people you have to train along side you and push each other the better. This virtual training camp will be a great way to educate young skiers to the kind of training it takes to become a US Ski Team Athlete.”
