ASPEN, CO – U.S. Ski Team cross-country ski racers Simi Hamilton and Noah Hoffman, both from Aspen, will be hosting a support rally and fundraising event on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Limelight Lodge from 5-7 pm. “Project A Team” will kick off with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and will be followed by a presentation about the two aspiring Olympians.
Project A Team is a reference to the U.S. Team’s “A Team” level where 100% of funding is covered by the U.S. Ski Team. Both Hamilton and Hoffman are on the cusp of making the A Team but they need help. Budget cuts have forced the two rising stars to scramble for funding while targeting World Cup starts this winter.
World Cup starts are the key to making it to the next level, if Hamilton and Hoffman can score some quality results early this winter, they will be well on their way. But there remains one more hurdle, actually making it to Europe to start the season, and local Aspenites can help by attending the Project A Team fundraiser and contributing to the cause. Set your calendars and save the date for Friday, Oct. 28, 5-7pm at the Limelight Lodge.
