It has been a busy month for our SMST2 team. Skyler, Erika and Sophie were here continuing with steady training. Jessie went to Sweden while Eric and Andy went to Austria and Germany, all on USST trips. And..last week, when those three returned, the whole team helped out with our SMS summer camps.
Now it’s back to steady training with the team.
Yesterday, we did our 10 km uphill L3 TT. It was a perfect day except for the headwind, everyone skied well. It was interesting (not too surprising) to see that the skiers who had not traveled made a little bigger gains in the test. I attribute this to travel and camp fatigue. The 3 who returned from Europe last week are not quite back in the flow yet. It is a good lesson to learn and I imagine that within a week they will be “firing on all cylinders”.
