New Zealand Rain

Noah HoffmanSeptember 2, 2012

We woke up to rain in New Zealand this morning.

We had a wet day of training with two hours of classic in the morning. We did a speed workout (14 by 10 second speeds on varying terrain) with the Canadians. In the afternoon Kris Freeman and I did an easy hour classic ski. We were on rub skis (also called harries, zeros or waxless skis, good when the temperature is close to zero degrees Celsius) for both sessions.

It precipitated all day but couldn’t make up it’s mind between rain, sleet, and snow. There are ponds in the middle of the trail. This wasn’t what our snow supply needed. This evening it seems to have changed to snow so hopefully it will be good skiing tomorrow.
