VAL DI FIEMME, Italy — It was a sea of red on Saturday at the front of the women’s 15 k skiathlon at World Championships. Marit Bjørgen took home her second gold medal of the week with an impressive show of strength on the final climb that left Therese Johaug gasping for air in her wake. Winning never seems to get old for the Norwegian women; they performed a rousing chorus of ‘Heia Norge’ in the finish pen and clearly enjoyed themselves at the awards ceremony.
