In its 11th year, the White Mountain Classic 30K returns to Jackson, NH and the Jackson Ski Touring Center on Saturday, January 24. This event is part of the New England Marathon Series, the NENSA Zak Cup and Club Series and the NENSA 1-Day Club Championships.
This classic technique marathon offers skiers of several ability levels the opportunity to compete on some of the country’s best maintained and groomed trails. The course utilizes the unique trail system in and around Jackson Village, which includes Jackson’s FIS Homologated Course, Wentworth Golf Course and Eagle Mountain Fields.
The WMC 30K, is a fundraiser event which helps support the Mt. Washington Valley Junior Nordic Programs, offers three categories for skiers. Now, through Tuesday, January 20, those looking to compete at the “Race” and “Tour” level can register for $65.
Registration fees will increase to $100 for all categories after January 20 and through Day of Race until 9 am sharp. You can register on-line at www.Skireg.com.
The fields for each category are limited to 300 for racers and 100 for touring skiers, which are untimed. A 13 and Under Tour category that includes school ski teams is also offered at a cost of $20 with no field limit. All entries include use of food stations, a post meal race, awards and random prizes.
Fischer will also be hosting a demo day on January 24 from 10 am to 3 pm. This is a great opportunity to try out some new gear!
