The Kimberley Nordic Club is seeking a coach with the vision, motivation and collaborative spirit to assist in further developing our thriving nordic community.
The Head Coach will lead programming for youth development and masters training groups. This role will also support program growth, coach and instructor training, school outreach, and general membership communication to collectively unify the club.
The Kimberley Nordic Club (KNC) is a registered not-for-profit, full-service ski club whose goal is to foster nordic skiing as an affordable, life-long winter activity. KNC is a premiere cross country venue in the Kootenays, with 32km of varied trails and a consistently long ski season (average of five months). KNC is the fourth largest nordic club in Canada, and is situated within city limits. With 1900 members during the 2020/21 ski season, KNC has the highest per capita membership of any city in Canada. The Kimberley Nordic Club is thriving and entering into an exciting period of growth and strategic planning. The head coach will be an integral part of this work, collaborating with members, volunteers, staff, and executive board.

KNC is looking for a coach who:

The Head Coach will report directly to the General Manager and work in collaboration with the Program Coordinators and the General Manager. This position offers an annually renewable contract with a competitive compensation package based on experience, abilities and certification. The hours of the Head Coach vary seasonally, with more hours from September to March and reduced hours in spring and summer. The position will require travel, as well as working in the evenings and on weekends. Compensation for this position will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate, in the range of $35,000-$55,000 inclusive of benefits. One year contract commences April 1, 2021 and runs to March 31, 2022, leading to a permanent position.
