NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine (April 14, 2021) – The US Biathlon board of directors today named the following athletes to the National Team and Junior National Team for the 2021-22 season.

National A1 Team

Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, Maine)

Susan Dunklee (Craftsbury, Vt.)

Sean Doherty (Center Conway, N.H.)

 

National A2 Team

Jake Brown (St. Paul, Minn.)

Leif Nordgren (Hinesburg, Vt.)

 

National A3 Team

Joanne Reid (Grand Junction, Colo.)

Deedra Irwin (Pulaski, Wis.)

 

National B Team

Maddie Phaneuf (Old Forge, N.Y.)

Paul Schommer (Appleton, Wis.)

Max Durtschi (Ketchum, Idaho)

 

National X Team

Vaclav Cervenka (Grand Rapids, Minn.)

 

“An Olympic season is one of the most important times in an elite biathlete’s career,” said U.S. Biathlon Director of High Performance Lowell Bailey. “This coming season, with Beijing on the horizon, we are happy to have many returning veterans on the team as well as newcomers who will undoubtedly be pushing the pace within the training group. Congrats to all of the newly nominated athletes.”
