Bend Nordic Team Takes Advantage of Early Snow

FasterSkierOctober 6, 2009

A report from the Bend Nordic Team.

Sunday, Oct. 4th brought a thick, wet snowstorm to Bend.

Power was out. Trees were down. The skiing was, and still is, amazing!

Members of the Bend Nordic Team continued to get after it Tuesday morning for some 4×7 minute intervals on near-perfect snow conditions.

Wax of the day: VR50, although 55 or 60 covered with 45 or extra blue would probably have been even better to match the softening conditions throughout the workout.

It’s hunting season, and those bold enough to drive the back roads in the Central Oregon forests left perfect tracks for Nordic skiing.

If we weren’t leaving for the coast and Surf Camp tomorrow, we’d be out there with shovels making a track that would last another week!

Check out these awesome pictures from an incredible morning of skiing.

And, check back next week for the report from the coast!

It's hunting season. Just be aware, we aren't alone in the woods. Interval track and bluebird skies in the background.
