The World Cup resumes this weekend with the 45-kilometer long classic Swedish Vasaloppet “Tjeivasan†for women, and then 90-kilometer classic Vasaloppet for men on Saturday.
It will be a tough end of the season for those who are in the hunt for the overall World Cup title like Canada’s Beckie Scott, currently sitting in third place behind the leader Marit Bjorgen of Norway and second place Julia Tschepalova of Russia. Bjorgen has announced that she will be racing the next five races, but we have recently seen that such plans can change.
On the agenda are five Scandinavian races in seven days in five different cities. This is followed by a sprint race in Changchun, China 4 days after the famous Holmenkollen, Oslo 30/50-k before the season finale team-sprint and pursuit in Sapporo, Japan.

March 19. — Men’s and women’s pursuit, Sapporo, Japan
Sapporo is the site of next year’s World Championship.
