US Nationals

Since the my last post a lot has happened including traveling to Anchorage for US Nationals. It was a totally different scene this year than last. The temperatures were nowhere near zero so all of the races were actually able to happen! I had trained well leading up to the races and was looking forward to having good results. Unfortunately that isn’t how things turned out. I pushed myself as hard as I could go but it just wasn’t enough. I tried to stay positive and look forward to each race but things just weren’t coming together. So with that being said I didn’t make the Olympic team. I knew that I wouldn’t be named to the team because of my results but it still wasn’t an easy thing to hear. After many tearful phone calls home to my parents and to Dan and after talking to Sten I am starting to be all right with it. I know that I trained hard and smart this past year and that I did everything I could to reach my goal. With the help of my family, friends and sponsors I was able to focus just on training, racing and the Olympics and I have no regrets.

So now I am back in Marquette. It feels good to be home. My plan for the rest of the season….well, right now I don’t have a set plan. There are still many more races this year including the Super Tours as well as marathons.
