Toko Chemist Udo Raunjak to Present to Fall Ski Festival

Toko wax chemist Udo Raunjak will be in West Yellowstone this year.  He will conduct internal seminars to the Toko Tech Team and afterward on Tuesday 23 November at 6:00pm in the Conference Center, he will give a presention to the general public.  Udo is a key man in the Toko organization.  He is responsible for maintaining quality control and especially for developing improved products.  He will not only explain about the development of waxes, but will also show some science demonstrations which confirm waxing principles.

Metal Edge Ski Tuning Clinic at Fall Ski Festival

Nordic skiers who are also snowboarders, Tele skiers, or Alpine skiers will be happy to know that Toko will be offering a Metal Edge Ski Tuning Clinic in West Yellowstone at the Fall Ski Festival.  The clinic will be given by Erik Hvoslef on the evening of Wednesday 24 November from 6-7pm at the Conference Center.

Ian Harvey will also offer a seminar on preparing Nordic skis Friday 26 November from 6-7pm at the Conference Center.

Torin Koos Update

Up here in Mazama in the North Cascades it’s already getting that brisk fall feeling in the mornings. That’s good because it reminds me that shortly I’ll be heading off to Norway to kick off the season racing on the Scandinavian Cup. I’m particularly excited to be teaming up with the professional Norwegian outfit Team Sjusjoen. I’ve got to give big props to the World Cup skier John Anders Gaustad, along with Inge Scheve and Mike Meyers for helping with some of the introductions and getting this ball rolling.

In November and December I’ll be basing out of the Lillehammer/Sjusjoen area, then rolling to places like Beitostolen, Rovaniemi, Gaalaa, Meraker, Savalen and the like on the weekends. I’m sure to get plenty of competition as I hear they have a couple fast kids over there. At least that’s the word on the street…

I’m also particularly excited for the opportunity to have a bit more of a home base while racing instead of just being a visitor rolling from one hotel to the next as the weeks on the calendar flip to the next. This is the type of change I need to take my skiing to the next levels and to see these doors opening up is pretty cool.
