So far, I have been racing every weekend for Cole sport all across Utah. I has been a great way to train for the summer and I will continue to do so as long as it works with my training and coaches think it is a good idea. I am working on getting my upgrade to the Category 3 level. Riders are a little more experienced and smoother. Being a skier I am used to going hard for 25 minutes or till I have nothing left. I try to keep the same attitude towards cycling, but it is much different as I have learned. To get the upgrade would benefit myself, sense the racing is harder for longer and I feel like it would be a little bit smoother as well.
The last couple weeks, we have also started preparing for our first jumps coming the 2nd week in June in Steamboat. This is our first camp and I feel like it is a good place to start on! We will jump the k68 and will focus on in-run, and technique through the first part of the jump. Power will be important on this hill sense flying isn’t as big, because of the hill size.
Last weekend I got to take a little bit of a vacation. My cousin on my fathers side was getting married. It was amazing because I have not seen them since about 13 years old. To be there with him, meant a lot too him as well as myself. I wish Him and his beautiful wife Lauran, a great life together! Also, it was great too see that side of the family, when everyone was still there.
Now its back to training, this week is an recovery week, and will focus on jumping and weights! I also will have the final classes of may for Westminster College.
Stay tuned!
