Regional Cadet Support Unit (Prairie) Canadian Cadet Movement Biathlon Championship Series Stage III Alberta Provincials 2011. Cadet from across Alberta compete for position at the 2011 Stage IV National Biathlon Championships in Valcartier Quebec from 5-12 March 2011.
In a Biathlon competition the biathlete skis distances varying from 7.5 to 20 km and stops at the shooting range to shoot two or four times with both the distance and the number of shooting bouts depending on the type of competition in question. A great event for the whole family – watch top racers in Alberta compete and participate in recreational-level youth and master events.
Summer Biathlon combines target shooting with rollerskiing or running. Athletes compete following similar rules and distances to the winter version of the sport. Athletes carry rifles on their backs while rollerskiing but for the running events, rifles are left on racks at the shooting range. Penalties are applied for missed targets. Come and ski the 3x10km Classic and Free Technique Relay with friends, family or in the individual 30 km challenge in the stunning beauty of the Bow Valley. There is also a Youth Challenge Event.

A mass-start race will follow the Canmore Nordic Centre trail system. The clinic and race will be designed for first-time and intermediate-level orienteerers. All fitness levels are welcome. Individual, teams and family entries are invited. A BBQ will follow.
