This charitable event for women only features the most beautiful scenery in Canmore’s spring! The event features a 6 or 12 km run/walk, post event banquet… and, hopefully, bluebird skies!
After a long week of racing, head coaches Christi Boggs and Rachel Watson were able to see both their men’s and women’s teams stand at the top of the podium, claiming their first ever double national championship. This was Boggs’ and Watsons’ tenth year coaching the Wyoming Club team and they have been completely volunteer for all ten years. Lars Flora and Kristina Strandberg continue to hold a tight grip on the Super Tour titles through the weekend sprints in Madison, WI. Extremely warm temperatures in the mid-fifties melted all of the snow before the weekend, so local volunteers had to raid the snow fridge for backup coverage. Alaska Region 6 Championships Relays Marisa Rorabaugh and Heather Edic skied stride-for-stride for 7.5K’s, and when they sprinted to the finish a last-second surge by Edic was enough to catch, but not overtake, Rorabaugh. The two skiers will share the Region VI crown for 2009.
