The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF) has appointed Ben Popp as its new Executive Director. Popp will replace Ned Zuelsdorff who has served as Executive Director for eight years and announced his retirement earlier this year. Popp will be leaving his current position as Executive Director of the SISU Nordic Ski Foundation, based in Willernie, MN. He assumes the ABSF position on June 1, 2013.
Come celebrate Ned Zuelsdorff's final weeks as executive director of the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation with a send-off party on May 10. All are welcome!

The Utah Olympic Park is excited to announce the hiring of Robert Lazzaroni as program manager of Park City Nordic Ski Club. Lazzaroni will oversee the organization's day-to-day operations and manage cross-country, Nordic combined and ski jumping coaching staff.

The Board of Directors of Fast and Female is pleased to announce that Casey Peirce will join the organization in the role of Executive Director. The American Birkebeiner’s first annual Fat Bike Birkie, presented by Freewheel Bike, held today, Saturday, March 9, in Cable, WI, was a great success with 300 registered riders. The main event, the 45K Fat Bike Birkie was won by Jorden Wakeley, Grayling, MI, while Danielle Musto, Grand Rapids, MI, won the 45K women's race. All races were held on the expertly groomed Birkie Trail system. The event was capped at 300 riders to ensure a great snow-biking experience on the Birkie Trail for everyone involved.
The On-Snow Ski Demo at the American Birkebeiner each February is a tradition for cross-country skiers from around the country and the world. Everyone from newbie skiers to elites can try out the latest in new equipment--skis, poles, boots, bindings, and more—with many products that will be new for the following season.

The 2013 AXCS National Masters overlaid on the Boulder Mountain Tour weekend in Sun Valley, Idaho, wrapped up on Saturday, February 2 with the naming of the honorary 2013 U.S. Masters XC Ski Team. 10th Mountain Division Junior Championships Set for Bond Brook and Fort Kent

The Maine Winter Sports Center is pleased to announce that the 2013 10th Mountain Division Junior Nordic and Biathlon Championships will be hosted by Augusta Trails and the 10th Mountain Ski Club, respectively.
On Sunday Feb. 3 (Feb. 10 is the no snow date), there will be a 2 hour recreational event that is a fundraiser for the Notchview Trail Improvement and Maintenance fund called "Nordic Ski-Fest". $20 donation.
