Results from Norwegian National Championships While the World Cup circuit takes a brief hiatus, a number of nations are holding their national championships during the break. For many international elite racers, these events are a large part of qualifying for the upcoming World Championships to be held in Val di Fiemme, Italy. In Norway, this year’s national championship races are particularly important. Unlike past years, the Norwegian men have not been even close to dominant...

For me Rumford is similar to that favorite old t-shirt that has seen you through many days. It may be a little worn but it has good character and you can be sure that its going to fit. Last week Rumford hosted the US nationals and most of the nations elite racers came to do battle on Black Mountains time tested ski trails. As we pulled into town the snow situation was a bit grim...

Rumford,Maine:  It has been a record field in this year's Chevy Trucks US XC Nationals at Black Mountain in Rumford, Maine, but for the marathon events, the women's 30km and the men's 50km freestyle racers, the number of racers who toed the line at the start barely filled one results page. Today's races were for the true, endurance athletes.  And it was a race of endurance — the thermometer already recommended minimal time outside, and the wind was gusting...

A very strong field of 16 men and 16 women qualified for the final heats and it made for an exciting afternoon. Elimination heats got underway shortly after the qualifying was complete. Advancing to the semifinals for the men were: Andrew Newell and Chris Cook from Heat 1 Dave Chamberlain and Lars Flora from Heat...

Men's 10K classic race By now you know the drill – Freemans go 1-2 in classic race. It has been this way in every classic race the two of them have entered this year. Their dominance is so impressive that it is almost a forgone conclusion. Today it was Kris first followed by Justin 42 seconds back. Kris's classic technique was so quick and powerful that many on the side of the trail were in...

In fact, the field was so large that the men's start had to be delayed an hour in order to get all the women started and finished. With that many skiers and fast snow conditions, the times were extremely tight. In many cases, 10 seconds was the difference in 15...

In an effort to reduce the work load for the FasterSkier.com staff, we are just going to go ahead and give you the results for every classic race this season right here: Freemans go 1-2, Wagner dominates women’s race. There you go, no need to wait for the races. When it comes to classic races in the 2002-2003 season, the top of the results sheet hasn’t been changing much. And the favorites came through again...
