On the tenth of August 17 athletes, two coaches and three coach / assistants gathered in Keene, NY for Burke Mountain Academy’s August training camp. HAYWARD, WI – XC kicked off the 12th annual Technique Development Camp at Telemark Resort on Monday, July 28. Kikkan Randall (Anchorage, AK) just wrapped up a session of training with the Alaska Pacific University Nordic Ski Center on Eagle Glacier in the Chugach Mountains near Anchorage, AK. National kayak trainer Kjell Tore Solvang of Norway recommends Nordic skiers use paddling as an alternative training method in the summer and gives advice both on over-distance workouts, intervals, and technique in the boat. “There is more and more explosive strength in cross country ski racing, and training in the kayak can give ski racers a good alternative training method in this area,” says former Norwegian National Team Coach in paddling, Kjell Tore Solvang.

Brian Seppala is an 8th grade science teacher and Head Track Coach at Chaparral High School in Parker, CO. The Western REG camp wrapped up this weekend after a great week of training in Park City, UT. What has become known as the “Sweden Trip” has been in Scandinavia now for 13 days.
