Throwback Workout: Pace-Development Intervals with the NAWTA (Remember That?)

Everything's better with a group -- at least in terms of threshold interval workouts. In this "Throwback Workout" from three years ago, U.S. women's coach Matt Whitcomb explains why this was one of the best workouts he had seen back then. “It doesn’t need to be incredibly hard — today was roughly threshold and above during bursts of speed — but it was about the terrain that helped push the pace for us,” he said.

FasterSkier’s U.S. Continental Skiers of 2016: Caitlin Patterson and Scott Patterson

After notching national titles on the same day and leading Period 1 of the SuperTour, the Patterson siblings continued their season dominance, taking both the men's and women's 2016 Continental Skiers of the Year award. Honorable mention goes to the men's SuperTour winner Eric Packer and Chelsea Holmes, one of the circuit's most consistent female skiers.

‘Fake It Until You Make It’, Flowers and Freeman First in Craftsbury SuperTour 10 k Classic

A few new competitors broke through on the second day of SuperTour racing in Craftsbury, Vt., in both the men's and women's 10 k classic event. In the women's race, Erika Flowers made a debut SuperTour win, while Liz Guiney and Julia Kern tied for second. Kris Freeman double poled to first in the men's race, ahead of two UVM skiers.
