Fischer RCS Carbonlite Hole Plus Skate Skis
MSRP: $649.95
Fischer’s most technologically advanced skate ski just got a little more exciting. The all new Fischer RCS Carbonlite Hole Plus Skate Skis are the latest technology from the Austrian Fischer Factory. It’s all about swing weight with the hole ski. With less material in the tip you exert far less energy there by creating much great efficiency. Each pair is still perfectly matched using Fischer’s CFC system.
In general, the Carbonlites’ reduction in weight is accomplished with an internal construction called Air Core Carbonlite. The use of T300 1K Carbon Fiber in the tip and tail improved ski swing weight significantly. The Carbonlites are pre-waxed to prevent base oxidation and to make the skis faster out of the box. Diamond Tuning lays in the proper structure for each base type.
This product is available at Boulder Nordic Sport, Finn Sisu, Free Heel and Wheel, Gear West, High Peaks Cyclery, Nordic Ultratune, Ski Rack, Skinny Skis and WebSkis.
The Concept2 SkiErg
MSRP for the PM3 (wall-mounted version): $730 plus shipping, optional floor stand: $200 plus shipping.
Concept2 is excited to offer Nordic skiers a new way to train without snow: the Concept2 SkiErg. Similar to the Concept2 Indoor Rower, the SkiErg is designed to help athletes build strength and endurance in a sport-specific motion. Although no machine can duplicate all the subtleties of Nordic skiing, the SkiErg enables you to train using the motion that is essential to all techniques of skate and classic skiing. It’s a convenient and safe alternative to roller-skiing, a nice option when the weather is bad or you’re short on time.
The SkiErg, within months of release, has become very popular with college teams, clubs and ski schools, as well as elite athletes. Ideal for testing and supplementary training, the SkiErg is the first really useful indoor ski simulator.
