Many of the world's best skiers will gather this weekend in Estonia for the
Saku Suverull running/rollerskiing pursuit race. This will be the first major
international test of the 2003-2004 season for most of these skiers.
The start of the prologue is individual, with 30 seconds intervals. Mass start
will be used in the running competition where racers are aligned in two columns,
according to the results of the prologue, with the interval of 2 meters from
the previous competitor. Pursuit-start will be used in the roller-skiing race
based on the results of the running competition. The winner of the competition
will be the first to finish in the roller skiing. The competition in the roller
skiing and also in the prologue will be held in free technique, except the marked
finish zone in last 100 meters, where the competitors have to use the double-poling
technique only (according to course signs).
