NENSA sponsors and directs races, workshops, athlete camps, roller ski races, recreational events, coaches clinics, hikes, and trips abroad throughout the 12-month calendar.

NENSA is recognized by the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) as the 501 (c) (3) entity responsible for hosting, directing, and sanctioning the wide range of activities that take place year-round in cross-country skiing in New England. In 2003 — 2004, NENSA had well over 3000 individual members of all ages, among them past and present Olympians, future hopefuls, and recreational skiers.
