– It’s tough to find excuses when I end up second, she says

Bjorgen talked about the tough pressure she feels in a recent VG newspaper:

– In reality I’m satisfied. I want to be best all the time, but have to realize that I can’t be number one every time, says Bjorgen.

She finds it hard to have to drum up excuses every time the media is over her when she hasn’t won.

– It’s tough to have to find excuses for the media when I place second. I feel that it’s not accepted when I’m number two. That’s tough, she says.

She admits that this affects her and gives her negative thoughts. It hit a peak when she didn’t win in Kuusamo in the last World Cup.

She expressed at a press conference that she wanted to contact her old coach Svein Tore Samdal to help solve her problems. She has regretted saying that afterwards.

– I have a big need to hear that I have done well from people I trust. That means my coaches and my boyfriend Fred Bœrre Lundberg, she says.

Bjœrgen has decided to skip the races in La Clusaz in order to prepare for Tour de Ski.
