Kris Freeman to Ski Craftsbury Marathon

Ever wondered how you’d stack up against high level talent? Here’s your chance! The Craftsbury Marathon has always drawn a strong field of highly talented skiers (including the elder Freeman, Justin last year), but perhaps never more than this year. Long-time USST member Kris Freeman has announced he’ll join the ranks contesting the 28th annual Craftsbury marathon January 31st.

To enthusiasts of Nordic racing, the Andover, NH, native needs little introduction: national team member for the past 9 years, two-time Olympian, U-23 champion – clearly the dominant US men’s distance competitor of his generation.

Equally impressive is that this was all accomplished as a Type 1 diabetic, requiring countless injections and blood samples to monitor his blood sugar levels.

Now you can measure yourself against this champion and the other Olympians, National team members as well as regional talents. Registration remains open until the 24th for the 25 or 50k classical technique event. Or perhaps gather your buddies and take on Freeman tag team style in our new relay option where up to 5 skiers can split the racing duties. No matter how you finish, it’s one more thing you’ll never forget about this year’s marathon.
