HAYWARD, WI – Central Cross Country Ski Association (CXC) is pleased to announce Swix Sport USA to be the official ski pole supplier. Starting on, August 1, 2009, CXC Elite Team will rely on the proven technology of Swix to provide them with the lightest and strongest composite ski poles.

For more than 25 years, Swix has been the leading innovator in the field of composite ski poles. Top World Cup athletes prefer Swix composite poles, and Swix is the natural choice for maximum performance regardless of skill level.

“We are very excited about our new sponsorship with Swix Sport USA. It is critical to have the best equipment for the high performance results where one second can separate first place from the tenth. This sponsorship will also allow CXC to support other programs such as CXC Junior Development Program and CXC Post Graduate Program” – commented Yuriy Gusev, CXC Executive and Athletic Director.

CXC Elite Team members like Matt Liebsch, overall winner of the 2009 American Birkebeiner and Garrott Kuzzy, member of the 2009 Nordic Ski World Championships will count on the cutting-edge technology in their racing.

“It is exciting for Swix Sport to be officially involved with the CXC program after many years of supporting Central athletes and teams. The enthusiasm the Central Region exemplifies for Nordic Skiing is exceptional. We feel our quality product, racing service and support for retailers and teams across the country is truly complemented now that we have joined forces with CXC. It makes complete sense for us to support CXC from the grass roots level to the Olympic athlete level. CXC Athletes will be racing on the industry leading Swix Star CT1 poles with new Profit strap system.”

Correction: “CXC Team Vertical Limit”, not “CXC Elite Team”

Per press release from CXC: “Central Cross Country Ski Association (CXC) is pleased to announce Vertical Limit as the title sponsor for the CXC Elite Team. The Vertical Limit sponsorship will be seen this year with logos on CXC Team apparel and by providing many items from their fine line of outdoor technical and leisure wear. The CXC Elite Team will now be known as “CXC Team Vertical Limit”.”

Hard to keep all these sponsorships straight…
