Sauce Headwear, in the wake of a name change from SOS Headwear, has launched a new website. Sauce Headwear produces high-quality ski hats, which are worn throughout North America by all levels of skiers. In addition to selling individual hats, on both the web and in retail stores, Sauce specializes in orders with custom logos for teams and clubs.
Sauce Headwear was started in 2003 by four Canadian cross country ski racer as a method to raise money to support their Olympic dreams. Shayla Swanson, Kim McMurtry, Jacqui Benson and Rhonda Jewett came up with the unique fundraising idea of producing stylish yet functional toques. After a very sucessful first year, their fundraising scheme has developed into a small business. Now in their sixth year, Shayla and Rhonda continue to manage the production, marketing and sales of Sauce Headwear products. Shayla is a member of the Canadian National Ski Team while Rhonda races on the Alberta World Cup Academy. Both pursue their goal of competing on home soil at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Sauce Headwear features a full line of products, including two styles of hats – the Swift Toque, a lightweight option, ideal for aerobic activity, including racing, and the Cill Toque, a heavier, fleece lined option that works well in the coldest weather. The Swift Headband is made of the same material as the Swift Toque, and is a good option for both cool fall workouts and warm winter days.
All three products are available in a wide range of colors and patterns, ranging from standard Black, Blue and Red, to Groovy Flowers, Spring Pink, and Burnt Orange. New options are available every year.
Sauce Headwear provides the FasterSkier hats available in the FS Store.
