Cold Skate Sprint in Anchorage

Well- it’s still cold in Alaska.  But this day last year would have been a blessing.  The temps stayed constant at -15 C all day but the wind pickedup in the afternoon making for some chilly heats.  All in all, we had a decent start to the series at Kincaid.  Ida led the way finishing 2nd in her B-Final as the top U23 lady- that should stamp her ticket to Europe in February.  Tim qualified in 21st in a tight men’s field but came up short in his quarterfinal.  Hannah just barely missed the heats in 38th.

There’s warmer weather on the way for the rest of the week and we’re psyched for the distance races to get underway.  Highlight of the day is featured below- who knew the most exciting thing in the whole world was Pepa getting her picture taken with a cow moose in downtown Anchorage?
