| The summer of 2011 is well underway and the GMVSxc Ski Team is training at full force. It seems hard to believe, but we have already had three junior camps and we just completed our first, “Invite Session.” We had a super strong group of skiers including GMVS skiers and alums along with visiting guests. There are three sessions left — please contact me at beck@gmvs.org if you are interested in joining us for one or more of the remaining sessions: July 25-27, August 1-3, and August 15-17.
This weeks session was a mini-NAtionals simulation complete with a 5km/10km skate TT, a road bike ride, a speed workout and 800m Plunkton Double Pole Test, a Sprint Simulation and a hike up Mad River Glen. Over 15 athletes participated and our skiers are showing positive signs as we head into some of the most intense training of our year. Many of our athletes posted personal best in repeated tests and D. Sinclair and Heidi Halvorsen broke the 800m double pole records that have stood for several years.
