This past weekend was quite enjoyable. Some easy training and hiking, lots of food, and some family time made up a great Thanksgiving weekend. My aunt Catrin and her mom came down to Canmore from Edmonton (and Wales) for a quick stay in Canmore. It was great to have a chance to catch up over lunch, and give them a bit of a tour of downtown. Canmore saw lots of rain leading up to the weekend, which translated to lots of snow in the alpine. The sun came out for the weekend though and lit up the snow covered mountains. It really did put on a show for all the mad tourists in town.
Sunday morning Emma, Annika, Bronwyn and I headed out to Kananaskis Country to hike Wind Tower. The fresh snow and decent weather made for an awesome hike.

The wind was nutso. Being up high and totally exposed to it was cool, but only for so long…
Heading home
Sunday night we had a great dinner with the Lodges. Lots of turkey, smashed potatoes and pies. I spent Monday morning recovering from my food coma, then headed to Jess Cockney’s house for an AWCA Misfits Thanksgiving dinner for all those skiers in town with no family. Thanks to Jess and Marlis for putting on a great night with delicious food! Shout out to Russell Kennedy for his amazing maple bacon potatoes!
They are pushing out Frozen Thunder as I write this and we should be skiing by the end of the week! Pretty excited to get back on snow and get the season underway!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Pictures of Frozen Thunder to come!
