On Saturday, we took the kids who were not at JN’s or J2’s and went to Bretton Woods to ski in the 1/2 marathon. It was a beautiful day and a spectacular setting with the famed Mt Washington Hotel sitting below the Presidential Range.
Waxing was a bit tricky because of variable conditions (icy, granular, powder..), but Poppet found some stuff that worked in most places and away everyone went.
Corky and Calvin waged their own own private battle and finished in 2nd and 3rd overall.
Charlie was not far behind in 4th.
Sverre wasn’t feeling too good, so Corky and Charlie kept their distance while giving the race report.
Mollie (2nd female) and Mac (6th overall) both skied well and posed for the picture after the finish.
Kate had slippery ski problems, but she toughed it out and got a good upper body workout.
Our J3’s skied (and chatted) the whole way together. Here, as they crossed the bridge, the finish came into site and they sprinted in.
Alex and Helena enjoy the post-race banquet.
Charlie shows that he skied hard :).
