SISU Foundation Hires Director of Athlete Development
Kask Returns to Minnesota After Work with USAT Prepping for London Olympic Games; Will Run SISU’s Newly Developed D-Team
ST. PAUL, Minn. – On March 7, the Sisu Foundation (SISU), a Twin Cities-based organization dedicated to the development, support and promotion of Nordic Skiing in Minnesota, announced that Jason Kask joined its coaching staff. Kask, currently a member USA Triathlon’s High Performance Department, has been hired as the Director of Programming and Athlete Development.
“We’re excited and very fortunate to welcome a coach with Jason’s skill set to our organization,” said Ben Popp, SISU’s Executive Director. “He brings invaluable training, technical and racing expertise. Jason is a strong addition to our experienced coaching staff. “
Kask will be charged with leading the new SISU D-Team, which will cultivate young athletes into the next generation of elite racers. In addition, he will work to further expand the quality programming offered by SISU—meeting the needs of a wide range of skiers from novice to competitive master racers.

I am eager grow and expand the opportunities that the SISU Foundation provides to skiers of all levels in the Twin Cities Metro. ”
Before beginning his coaching career, Kask a native of Duluth, Minn., competed at The College of St. Scholastica in Nordic skiing, Track and Field, and Cross Country running. He graduated from St. Scholastica with a B.S. degree in exercise physiology, and received his master’s in applied kinesiology from the University of Minnesota.
