The rain went away and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky today.

(I’m not wearing a helmet because I came straight from New Zealand and this was an unexpected trip for me. I am not being a good roll model.) This morning I had a productive skate technique session. We tested my skiing at a high output. My heart rate hit 176bpm, which is really close to my max of 182.

This afternoon we did classic technique with a focus on steep climbing and different striding techniques. The session went pretty well and my energy stayed OK throughout the day.

This evening I went to Chris and Mary Osgood’s for dinner. Last night I went to Jake and Eve Mcdermott’s place, also for a delicious meal. The community of Putney is like my second (or third) home. They are so generous and inclusive. I love spending time here. Plus, both the Osgoods and Mcdermotts make incredible pies. Here’s a picture of Mary’s:
