MIDWAY, Utah — It’s all about ups and downs at Soldier Hollow, and Natalja Naryshkina of Central Cross Country (CXC) proved to be fastest up, down and around the 1.5-kilometer classic sprint course on Friday morning at U.S. Cross Country Championships with the fastest qualifying time of 3:58.20.
Rosie Brennan of Alaska Pacific University (APU) was just two-hundredths of a second of the pace in second and Jennie Bender (Bridger Ski Foundation) ranked third, 3.40 seconds behind her former teammate Narshykina. Heats start at 12:15 p.m. MST.
Note: Our apologies for not catching a photo of Deedra Irwin (Michigan Tech University), who qualified in ninth.
