While most skiers structure their training by time and not distance, it can be helpful (or just interesting) to know how far you ran, skied, rollerskied, etc.
Here is a very handy and simple tool that we came across recently to do just that –

This system uses google maps so you can view satellite images, topo maps, and street maps. You can calculate distance in both miles and kilometers, and save and share routes.
