Hey Everyone,
John McGlenn here. No, I am not still at GMVS, but I did have the pleasure to join up with the team when they came out to West Yellowstone. I go to school in Bozeman, Montana at Montana State University (an hour and a half from West Yellowstone). It's paradise out here. Arguably the best fly fishing in the country and undoubtedly known for its blue bird powder days. Yea, it's pretty sweet.
Anyway, on Tuesday I hiked Bridger Bowl (yes mom, I did go to class in the morning) with a few friends, got some powder turns in, came home, packed up and got an early nights rest. Wednesday, I woke up to negative 21 degrees Fahrenheit and fresh fluffy snow outside. Most people would probably be pissed off, but I live for stuff like that. Anyway, I jumped out of bed, threw my ski bag and duffle in the car and then made myself a hearty 9 egg breakfast. After, I hopped in my car, made a quick second breakfast pit stop at McDonalds and made my icy cold journey to West Yellowstone, where I made it in just enough time to join the team on a fun little classic ski.
To make a long story short, I had a blast hanging out with the team for the week. Fun runs through snowy streets, strength in a cramped basement locker room, dinner table laughing hysterics, team cuddling on one bed to watch a movie, and most of all, the skiing! Even though I am having the time of my life out here in Bozeman, I will never forget those one-of-a-kind opportunities and adventures I had while on the team. I'm happy to see the team doing so well and coming into the winter with huge potential. They are a solid group of skiers and I wish them all the best this ski season.
See you guys in Vermont in less than a week!
