The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) has released a tentative SuperTour calendar for the coming season. There are a few pieces that need to fall into place for the schedule to be finalized, but at first glance the season highlights for the domestic race circuit are:

  • The Canadian World Cups. Though not a part of the SuperTour, there is a hole in the calendar for those two weekends in December. North American World Cup races are a major focal point of the season for the U.S. athletes who stand a chance to earn one of the five men’s and five women’s nations’ group spots on top of the regular American World Cup quota.
  • (Tentative) full sprints in West Yellowstone and Bozeman, Mont. These two races are subject to change pending homologation, but if the venues are able to hold full FIS-sanctioned sprints all but one remaining sprint qualifier will have been removed from the SuperTour calendar. The change would also provide athletes an opportunity to enter heats before some of them head to Quebec as part of the U.S. nations’ group (see above).
  • U.S. Nationals at Soldier Hollow.
  • The host for Spring Series has yet to be announced, but USSA Nordic Manager Joey Caterinichio says that Truckee, Calif., is making a bid.
