RIPTON, Vt. – Unusual weather conditions have forced race organizers to cancel the Romance Half Marathon Race and Tour, scheduled to be held on Saturday, Michael Hussey, director of Rikert Nordic Center announced.   “Race officials made the decision based on the unseasonably warm weather, lack of snow and an unfavorable forecast going into the weekend,” Hussey said. “We’ve already decided to look ahead to next season, rescheduling the cross-country ski event for February 2013.”...

Eight months after she donated bone marrow to help a cancer-stricken man, the doctors said they needed twice the number of stem cells they took from her last spring — which was 500 million.
