IBU World Cup Pokljuka, Slovenia Men’s 10-kilometer Sprint
The men’s 10-kilometer sprint in Pokljuka, Slovenia was won today by Norway’s Johannes Thingnes Bø in a time of 23:46.3 minutes. During the two shooting stages, Bø skied a single penalty lap after missing one shot while standing.
Bø led the race from beginning to end, marking the fastest split at the first time check and never relinquishing control of the race.
France’s Antonin Guigonnat placed second 16.1 seconds back. Guigonnat shot clean, skiing no penalty laps. Alexander Loginov of Russia was third. He also shot clean and finished 16.4 seconds behind winner Bø.
Canada’s Christian Gow had another strong performance, placing 17th (+1:01.2) after shooting clean. Christian Gow placed 16th in yesterday’s 20 k individual race.
Also for Canada, Brendan Green finished 81st (+2:36.9). Green had three penalties, one in prone, two standing. Nathan Smith was 88th (+2:54.4) after missing one target shooting prone. Scott Gow placed 93rd (+3:08.6) with four penalties. He missed two targets shooting prone, two standing.
American biathlete Sean Doherty placed 26th (+1:15.1) while shooting clean. Also for the U.S., Leif Nordgren crossed the line in 31st (+1:20.90.) He missed a single target shooting prone, and shot clean standing. Travis Cooper placed 103rd (+3:57.4). Cooper missed two targets shooting prone and three standing. Max Durtschi finished in 108th (+4:36.4) missing six targets in total; two in prone, four standing.
