Norway's Emil Hegle Svendsen is off to one heck of a start at Biathlon World Champs with three wins in as many races. Brian Gregg found similar success in two out of three races over the long weekend, and Sophie Caldwell made the Scando Cup podium in a skate sprint.

On a snowy day in Aspen, Colo., Mike Sinnott won the opening sprint prologue of the SuperTour weekend, Patrick Johnson claimed his first career win in the 10 k classic and Rosie Brennan went two-for-two in both women's races,
The Tour de Twin Cities concluded on Sunday with a 10/15 k freestyle pursuit. After dozens of accumulated laps around the 3.3 k Wirth Park course, Torin Koos and Rosie Brennan each maintained their leads and emerged victorious in the overall standings. Brian and Caitlin Gregg both posted the fastest times of the day for the stage wins and their first double victory as a couple.
Reese Hanneman won the 10 k classic race at Wirth Park on Saturday for his first career SuperTour distance win. He beat Mike Sinnott and Torin Koos in second and third, respectively. Rosie Brennan bested Jennie Bender by 0.6 seconds in the women's 5 k to take home stage four.

Bjornsen Gets What She Came For, Wins National Title in 20 k Classic Mass Start

A two-time runner-up at this year's nationals, Sadie Bjornsen proved to herself that she can achieve gold, winning her second national title in three years in her first-ever 20 k. Bjornsen skied away from the pack late, beating teammate Kate Fitzgerald by nearly 13 seconds.
Last night it was just a bit overcast which kept things from getting as clear and cold as it has been recently, but it was still 4f at the venue 2 hours before the start, so the snow was still cold. Although the conditions were slightly different (no hoarfrost that needed to be skied in for example), our wax tests (both kick and glide) showed that the same products that had been performing the past two days continued to.

Despite illness, disrupted training and frustration with her early season, Jennie Bender (Central Cross Country) will not quit. A mere month after disappointing results in Bozeman, she came from behind on Wednesday to win the classic sprint at U.S. Nationals. Sadie Bjornsen was second and Rosie Brennan third.
Kikkan Randall turned in her best World Cup classic distance result, placing sixth in the 10 k mass start in Canmore. Teammates Sadie Bjornsen and Holly Brooks joined her in the top 30 while Liz Stephen and Jessie Diggins were late scratches.
It’s been almost two weeks since the Americans competing in Canmore found out they’d earned World Cup spots as part of the nation's group. The initial excitement now abated, the athletes racing the mass start classic and skiathlon on Thursday and Sunday want to ski within themselves and not let the bright lights of the World Cup get too blinding.
