The race also showed that the Norwegian sprinters' recent distance success was no fluke....

As a skier, you see the world. Eating reindeer sausages and cloud berries in Finland. Drinking Glug in Norway on New Years. Watching a wild pack of moose trot briskly by on a suburban Alaskan street. Writing helps put in their rightful place the incomplete remembrance of roads taken, breakdowns, misdirections, potholes, and detours of my days on the road chasing snow. Being around people in sometimes such tight accommodations, you find out insights from...

– It would be very exciting to race this leg at the Olympics, says Eldar Ronning after skiing an excellent first leg on the Norwegian 4 x 10 k relay team at Beitostolen. Keeping that spot will be a big challenge. Source: Langrenn.com Only five skiers were together in the leadpack at the first tag-off in Sunday’s 4 x 10 World Cup relay. One of the top skiers in the country, Swedish-born Kristina Strandberg took the overall victory in last season's FIS North America Marathon series. She was also an NCAA champion in 2000. This year she looks set for another strong year on the marathon circuit, while simulatneously working on a PhD. We asked her a few questions here at West Yellowstone, where she is training with the rest of the factory team. Ok first things first:...

Last night, the Indoor Ski Show was as busy as it...

Fasterskier.com Guest Editorial by Mike Trecker Fast, furious and freezing. What an amazing couple of weeks it has been in Alaska following the trials and tribulations of those competing for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team. For most of those trying out, it is just an accomplishment getting to this point. They have trained diligently through the summer months while scrambling to put together something that resembles sponsorship, scraped enough funding together to secure...

Norwegian skier Kristian Horntvedt had his best seasonopener ever and placed 25th in the 15-kilometer World Cup classic race at Beitostolen last weekend.
