An Olympian and longtime racer at the top of the American pack in skiing and biathlon, Charlie Kellogg will be missed for much more than that: he was a friend on trail, a partner in adventure, and a mentor and leader for local and national nordic sports organizations.
For the first time in nearly four decades, Jackson Ski Touring Foundation has a new leader. Breanne Torrey, who has been with the organization for six years and has held the positions of Head of Ski Patrol and Director of Operations, has been named the Foundation’s new Executive Director. She is the first woman in this role and follows former Executive Director Thom Perkins, who retired in the spring of 2014 after 38 years with the organization.
Thom Perkins of Intervale, NH, has been given the lifetime achievement award from Ski NH. The award recognized his contributions to Nordic skiing in New Hampshire. The award was presented by Cory Schwartz, the UNH Nordic Ski Team coach, and Ben Wilcox from Cranmore Mountain Resort.
