Van Hoevenberg celebrated their earliest opening in the venue’s history on...

The snow started around 4 pm last night and kept at it throughout...

It's that time of year when the snow reports start coming into FasterSkier.com. The lucky skiers who get to enjoy early season skiing usually send us pictures, which we share with the rest of the ski world as we all wait anxiously for our own dusting of the white stuff. This year had been off to a predictable start – reports of a snowstorm or two in the Rockies, skiing in Fairbanks, Alaska in mid-October...

Skiing at Sunshine! The pictures below provide a pretty good idea of what kind of treasure was found by some at Sunshine Ski Village in Banff, Alberta on Saturday October 22. Arrangements were made for a group of Canmore based skiers to get in some early season skiing on a beautiful and crisp morning in the Rockies. Members of Rocky Mountain Racers, Exel Racing Team, X-C.Com and XC Ottawa as well as a few others...

The Swedish first team of Thobias Fredriksson and Bjorn Lind was second in the sprint World Cup relay in Düsseldorf on Sunday. They skied a good race tactically and Bjorn Lind tried to crush the competition by skiing all out the entire last lap. With a goal of measuring where they stand against the world’s best at this time of year, the five Canadians who hit the start line for the sprint event should have exchanged their race suits for wet suits as...

Norway, Norway, Norway:: Today was without a doubt Norway´s day. In the women´s relay, the combination of veteran skier, Hilde Pedersen, and ski queen, Marit Bjoergen, easily mantained control through out the entire final, with Bjoergen putting down the hammer a few times and creating sizeable gaps. It seems as though Bjoergen is skiing at a completly different level than the rest of the women´s field. She is simply stronger and technically much more stabile....
