WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. — Some of the most competitive skiers in the U.S. SuperTour circuit give thanks and express appreciation for friends and family before, during and after their Thanksgiving Day ski sessions. The first SuperTour of the season starts Friday with the 1.3-kilometer skate sprint at the Rendezvous Ski Trails in West Yellowstone. On Saturday, hundreds of skiers will take part in the 10/15 k distance skate races.

“Super thankful for my family, friends, and my wife Sarah (we haven’t been able to spend a Thanksgiving together yet),” said Sylvan Ellefson of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail/Team HomeGrown (whose video interview was inadvertently lost).

“Thankful for blue skis, fast ski tracks, and great November mustaches!” Ellefson added. “I’m really excited to get this ski season going and I know everyone else is pretty antsy as well!”
