div style="text-align: left;"I just returned from my first week of on snow training up on Eagle Glacier, about 40 miles outside of Anchorage, and 6000 feet up from the city. We were scheduled to helicopter up last monday, but due to some crazy weather and bad flying conditions, we were postponed until tuesday afternoon. Finally a little hole opened and we were able to zip up to the mountains on one of Alpine Air's helicopters. br //divspan class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:Times;"div style="border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 3px; padding-right: 3px; padding-bottom: 3px; padding-left: 3px; width: auto; font: normal normal normal 100%/normal Georgia, serif; text-align: left; "br //divspan class="Apple-style-span" style=" ;font-family:Georgia;"a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_l4L_01UOs1s/TD45LMvIXyI/AAAAAAAAAYI/73RYPfN58BY/s1600/DSC05933.JPG"img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_l4L_01UOs1s/TD45LMvIXyI/AAAAAAAAAYI/73RYPfN58BY/s320/DSC05933.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5493891459998834466" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " //a/spandiv style="text-align: center;border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 3px; padding-right: 3px; padding-bottom: 3px; padding-left: 3px; width: auto; font: normal normal normal 100%/normal Georgia, serif; "span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold; "Looking down on Girdwood and the ocean from our house./spanbr //divdiv style="border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 3px; padding-right: 3px; padding-bottom: 3px; padding-left: 3px; width: auto; font: normal normal normal 100%/normal Georgia, serif; text-align: left; "divbr //divdivFor six days I lived the "eat, sleep, train" life up on the glacier with 16 other APU athletes.
