While the world's collective attention is focused on the Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, EISA racers set their sights on the 2014 Williams Carnival held at Prospect Mountain in Woodford, VT. UVM and Dartmouth continued to show strength, while the Bowdoin women made a strong statement on both days.
The UVM Carnival/Eastern Cup was held this weekend. One of the biggest events in the East, this year's event was marked by the loss of Dartmouth's Torin Tucker on Saturday. Despite the loss, the Nordic community rallied to support each other and carry on. Collegiate races were swept by Linda Danvind-Malm and Jorgen Grav, both of UVM.

Despite warm temperatures and course alterations, the EISA racing season began at the Colby Carnival in Waterville, Maine last weekend. Perennial performers UVM and Dartmouth finished strong, but several other schools put on impressive displays of both top talent and depth
EISA action continued today in the second day of the Colby College Carnival. In the women's 10 k freestyle race the University of Vermont's Linda Danvind-Malm posted the fastest time in 28:16.8, while in the men's race it was UVM's Scott Patterson who blazed around the 15 k course in 35:26.1, gapping the field by over a minute.
