St. Lawrence University is currently seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant Coach for Nordic Skiing. This 9-month, Graduate Assistant position (August 15, 2015 - May 15, 2016) is targeted toward graduate students seeking a master’s degree. Remuneration includes a very competitive coaching stipend, student health insurance, and eligibility for tuition remission (6 graduate classes per year in the University’s graduate program, some meals are also included.

Small Montana Town Working to Create a Big Nordic Ski Vision

Inspired by the Maine Winter Sports Center, a small Montana community formed the Seeley Lake Regional Outdoor Center for Kinetic Sports (ROCKS) in 2010, and this spring, ROCKS will file an application to build a new Seeley Lake nordic-ski venue. If all goes according to plan, the area would be one of six venues with D-category homologation.

Anti-doping scientists used "data triangulation" to gather many different types of evidence about doping, and concluded that between 14 and 39 percent of elite athletes dope. The number is impressive - in part because estimates of doping are rarely published. But, the authors note, "tools to evaluate the prevalence of doping use in sports are readily available; they only need to be used more often." So why are we only talking about it?
