The snow started falling in Fairbanks Saturday afternoon, and by Sunday afternoon the Birch Hill trails were being groomed and a few dedicated skiers were taking advantage of the conditions to start accumulating some early season K's. Continental Cup Team coaches Pat Casey, Matt Whitcomb, and wax technician Randy Gibbs will remain in Europe following Junior World and U23 World Championships for two weekends of OPA Cup racing in central Europe. On Saturday, October 14th, the Michigan Tech Nordic Ski team hosted the 1st Annual Oktervofest Nordic Relays.
