The National Nordic Foundation (NNF) today announced a $40,000 matching grant to close out the Drive for 25, challenging the skiing community to raise an additional $40,000 before the end of the Drive on Thursday, December 1. These funds are critical in allowing the NNF to support American skiing development at the same level it has over the past several years. The northeast’s largest cross country ski center, the Jackson Ski Touring Center in Jackson, N.H., eight miles from North Conway, will celebrate the most extensive expansion in its 44-year history. Albany County, in partnership with the Wyoming Consortium for Veterans Activities, was awarded a $200,735.00 Adaptive Sports Grant to assist disabled veterans across Wyoming. The Casper Mountain Biathlon Club was part of the consortium awarded funding to improve access to sports activities for veterans across Wyoming. The announcement came last month as part of a $7.8 million dollar competitive grant initiative from the United States Veterans Administration (VA).

Matt Liebsch has joined Pioneer Midwest, located in Osseo, Minnesota. Liebsch, a graduate of Osseo High School, returns to the Nordic ski shop where he was first employed in 2002. “This is a homecoming for me,” said Liebsch. “I grew up attending Osseo schools and skiing for Osseo High School. Joining Adam at Pioneer Midwest is a tremendous opportunity. I know we can serve the needs of both high school racers and citizen skiers, from beginners to master skiers.”
